where can i find the best software to convert english to russian.and a good translater site.?

also how to convert russian to english.is there a way to get a keyboard that is used in russia.

Hi Susan,

For converting Latin letters into Cyrillic and vice versa you can use this site: http://www.translit.ru/
It gives you Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian alphabets. You just print your word (sentence, text) in a big window and click "??? ? ???????" (translit into Russian) or "??? ? ???." (translit into Latin). Very convenient.

As for on-line translation, all the programs are perfect if you want to have fun and cheer up. They’re awful if you need proper translation. To understand the "quality" of translation, just try to translate some simple sentence from your native English into Russian and then back into English. You’ll see what I mean… :)

If you absolutely need on-line translation, try this site:

http://www.online-translator.com/text.asp?lang=en

You’ll see two windows (upper and lower). Print (or copy-paste) your text in the upper one, choose the direction below (say, English-Russian translation) and click the red button (Translate!). You’ll get what they think you need. :)

Another site that I can recommend, is: http://www.lingvo.com/
It’s reallly good, giving you not just plain translation, but also spelling suggestions and many ways of using the word. Make sure you switch to English version (in upper right corner).

As for keyboards, you can easily do this in two steps. Add Russian language to the language panel of your computer (Language Panel -> Show the Language Bar -> Settings -> Add -> Russian (Russia)) and then buy Cyrillic keyboard. There are plenty of them on eBay.

Good luck!

You can create your keyboard, just by programming it thanks to the "linguage and regional options"
Then buy stickers on russian sites –

otherwise Google " Iandex.ru" or Yandex ??? and they’ll give you a free visual keyboard
? ??? ?? ?????? ???????? ?? ??????? ??? ????????? –
??? ?????? ??? ?
