02 Spanish Lesson – Preterite – Irregulars – saber

Hola. This video covers the irregular verb in the preterite: saber (to know). Remember that we use saber for: facts, information and ‘how to’.

Please note that saber can also mean ‘to taste’ in Spanish. This is not mentioned in the video, but should be noted by students.

Enjoy!

For certain things …
For certain things it’ll work… however…

Generally for ‘I knew’… we’ll use the imperfect:
yo sabía
tú sabías
él/ella/ud sabía
nosotros/nosotras sabíamos
ellos/ellas/uds sabían

Was wondering, if the preterite of Saber isn’t “I knew” and such… what would be “I knew a bit about …….”
