If you are building your own language translator for a project can you buy the software?
Do you need someone to create a software or are there companies that sell these already translators.
Yes you can buy language translation packages from a few suppliers although it will depend on the software language you are using as to what your options are.
However if you are building it as a project isn’t the idea that you write it yourself?

Besides being fluent, what else do I have to do to qualify as a foreign language translator?
I have my BA in Spanish. I’m still not fluent because our university emphasized on ancient Spanish literature, which wasn’t beneficial. I didn’t have the money for out-of-state tuition to go to a school more relevant to my career. Do you know of any resources you can provide me with to help me a few steps further towards becoming a translator? I’m still working on fluency. I would LOVE to travel a lot. Do you know where I can turn to for job opportunities?

Hi, are you looking to get into translating or interpreting? Translating is written work whereas interpreting would be aural.
Check your university to see if they do any postgraduate degrees in translation or interpretation. You’d need a degree or diploma in one of them.
If you’re not yet fluent in Spanish, I’d reccommend spending a year or so in Spain (or another Spanish-speaking country) either working or studying so that you’d be completely surrounded by the language. This is really the only way to become truely fluent. Did you not have to spend a year abroad as part of your course?
If you look for an MA in translation for example… I think that should be enough, aswell as spending some time living in a Spanish-speaking country. You already have knowledge of Spanish literature which will be an advantage if you’re looking to translate in writing.

What schooling must I take to become a language translator?
Also, how much do they make?
Some of them go to community college while others get their bachelors or masters degree. It really depends on wut type of interpreter u wanna be..for example if u want to be a spanish interpreter for a legal setting..most likely u gonna have to get an asso. or bachelors degree in spanish and minor in legal studies or vice versa. I know some interpreters that jus go to community college
On average interpreters make 17.10/hr

What jobs use american sign language besides a translator?
I’m really interested in American Sign Language and am learning it. What job options are there using American Sign Language besides being a translator?
If you actually become fluent (not just conversational but actually fluent), you can use ASL with any job. If you want to become a doctor… you could be a doctor that works with both Deaf and hearing clients. If you want to be a teacher, you can teach. If you want to work in a bank, you can do that too.
The Deaf community is very connected. If you are competent, culturally sensitive, and knowledgeable of the language… you will get Deaf clients.
